About Göteborg
Göteborg is Sweden’s second largest city, with more than 493,000 inhabitants. Located on the country’s west coast, Göteborg was established at the initiative of King Gustav II Adolf (Gustavus Adolphus) and received its charter in 1621. The city’s symbol and coat of arms features a powerful golden lion on a shield with silver streams against a blue background.
