Environmental management system
At Malmö Airport we are working to constantly reduce our environmental footprint. We therefore attach considerable importance to working with environmental issues in a structured and systematic way. On 1 March 2006 Malmö Airport obtained environmental certification as per ISO 14001:2004. This certification means that the airport not only lives up to the certification authority’s requirements but that it also works within the over-riding and highly detailed environmental goals set for Swedavia and Malmö Airport.
Swedavia conducts both internal and external environmental audits. Their aim is to ensure that the environmental management system is used, is adequate and is effective. A constant improvement process is adopted, with ever-sharper requirements, which means that environmental targets too are raised every year.
The managements of both Swedavia and the airport follow up this pro-environmental work at managerial reviews twice a year.
