Malmö-Sturup Airport has invested in the future by rebuilding the terminal. By opening up the terminal and removing the walls separating the domestic and international area the airport capacity has increased to cope with the growing number of passengers. It has been estimated that by the year 2010 the number of passengers will have doubled compared with today. This new terminal is designed to cope with between 3 ½ to 4 million passengers per year.
Ryanair now turn their attentions westward and announce plans to provide services from Malmö and Gothenburg to Dublin.
Malmö-Sturup airport are intensifying their efforts to attract low cost airlines. The intention is to double passenger volumes at the airport, achieving 3.5 million passengers by 2010.
