A major reconstruction project for the current Information facility is now under way. Together with Tourism in Skåne and Malmö Tourism we are creating a meeting-place where the visitor will have access to a combined airport and tourist information service. The Information facility has therefore been temporarily relocated. The new Visitor Centre is expected to open in January 2011.
The Malmö Airport Visitor Centre will offer travellers and visitors useful service and up-to-date information. The aim is to create an interesting meeting-place where the visitor encounters a live atmosphere built around images that provide a taste of Skåne. The structure of the facility will clearly highlight Skåne’s diversity and design innovativeness.
The visitor area has been divided into a number of rooms where the visitor can search for information and also obtain inspiration for new ideas during his or her visit to Skåne. The idea is that the entire area should be active and contribute to the spatial experience. For many tourists visiting Skåne, the Malmö Airport Visitor Centre will be the first interface with the visitor industry so it will serve as an important complement to other information channels.
