The European programme that assesses the climate efforts of airports is called Airport Carbon Accreditation. ACI, Airports Council International Europe och WSP Environmental are the organisations behind the programme. The Airport Carbon Accreditation programme follows the World Resources Institute’s (WRI) Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the international standard. There are four levels in the programme that airports can attain. On November 3, 2009, Stockholm Arlanda Airport became the first airport to be accredited at the highest level. Bromma Stockholm Airport and Umeå Airport have also achieved the highest level.
