Basic Airport is the LFV model which makes it possible for an airport to improve its competitiveness by working more cost-effectively. The key words are optimised human resources and increased flexibility.
Basic Airport has been developed by LFV. The basis for the concept is a comparative study of airports in Sweden in which the best experience within different areas has been applied.
Experience to date shows that Basic Airport fulfils its purpose. Basic Airport is now applied to most of the LFV airports. Operations are more effective and significantly less costly than before at the airports where the concept has been introduced. This is absolutely necessary to ensure long-term, competitive activities for the future.
Experience from the airports where LFV has introduced Basic Airport shows the following:
- The same amount of work can be done by 20% fewer people.
- Cost savings of approximately 25%.
- Air traffic punctuality is at the same level as before.
