When the cargo industry chooses an airport in Europe, it prefers Stockholm-Arlanda. Air Cargo World magazine’s annual survey ranks Stockholm-Arlanda as the top European airport in its cargo volume category.
LFV is cutting its take-off and passenger charges from March 1, 2009. This will lower the prices that airlines pay during 2009 by about SEK 40 million.
Air cargo is continuing to grow at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. An additional terminal will now be built as Netherlands-based AST holding expands its operations in Sweden. The terminal will be 5,700 square metres in size. Another 30 jobs will be created and transport services will become more environmentally friendly.
Air cargo at Stockholm-Arlanda is performing well. The magazine Air Cargo World ranks the airport as one of Europe’s best in this field. Last year air cargo volume rose by 19 per cent. The cargo flight schedule at Stockholm-Arlanda is expanding and airlines are opening their own cargo offices at the airport.
