2009-10-09

The number of passengers at LFV Airports decreased by 11% during September compared with the same month 2008. International numbers were down 12% and domestic 9%.

- The number of international passengers has dropped more than expected during September. Demand remains weak while at the same time airlines have reduced the number of available seats more than the drop in passenger numbers, says Lennart Bergbom, Analyst at LFV Airport Marketing.

For the period January-September 2009 the number of passengers at LFV Airports dropped by 13% compared with the same period last year. International passengers are down 12% and domestic by 14%.

Passenger numbers at Stockholm-Arlanda and Göteborg Landvetter Airports has decreased by 13 and 16% respectively. Stockholm-Bromma however recorded an increase of 10%.

- Traffic is increasing on most of the major routes from Bromma, but this increase is also due to the Airport´s new routes to Åre Östersund and Billund in Denmark, adds Lennart Bergbom.

The number of scheduled and charter landings decreased by seven percent in September compared with the same month the previous year. International by 13% and domestic by one percent. The accumulated number of landings for the period January-September 2009 was 145 000, down by 11%.
